"We're at Klaxo, but we wonder if we're paying too much for what we use." I hear this regularly from driving school managers, and the question deserves a real answer rather than a vague opinion. So, I reviewed Klaxo’s pricing grid on October 11, 2026, as well as those of other driving school software providers that display their prices. Here’s who Klaxo is the right choice for, what makes people hesitate, five alternatives with their pricing, and when a custom tool might cost less.
What Klaxo costs in 2026
Klaxo offers three subscription plans, all with the full set of features, and the price depends on your number of enrollments. As of October 11, 2026, the Klaxo pricing page lists the Basic plan at 99 € HT per month for 10 student enrollments, Essentiel at 159 € HT for 25 enrollments, and Premium at 249 € HT for 50 enrollments. Beyond your package, each additional enrollment is billed at 9.90 €. SMS appointment reminders are optional, with no listed price. The page says nothing about contract length, setup fees, or a free trial: you’ll need to request a demo.
An example to set expectations. An agency enrolling 15 students per month pays either 99 € plus 5 enrollments at 9.90 €, totaling 148.50 € HT, or the Essentiel plan at 159 € HT. Over a year, expect to pay between 1,782 € and 1,908 € HT before SMS costs. If your enrollments vary greatly by month, this is the detail to watch: your bill follows your enrollments.
A detail that matters: this pricing page isn’t linked from Klaxo’s homepage. I found it through a link in their article on the cost of driving school software. Couldn’t find it? That’s normal.
Who Klaxo is the right choice for
Klaxo covers every aspect of a driving school’s daily operations in one tool: lesson and exam scheduling, online reservations by students, integrated ANTS enrollment, exam slot reservations, digital logbooks and progress sheets, contracts and digitized files, an online store with three-installment payments, quotes, invoices, and automated reminders. The publisher claims over 6,000 managers, secretaries, and instructors as users, a team of 15, and around 30 new driving schools per month. As of October 11, 2026, its Trustpilot page shows a 4.6 out of 5 rating for 26 reviews.
If you enroll a steady monthly volume of students, want an online store with installment payments, and prefer an established publisher, Klaxo delivers. You pay for the full coverage, and it makes sense.
What makes people hesitate
The starting price. Among driving school software providers that publish their pricing, Klaxo is the most expensive to start: 99 € HT per month, while others begin between 0 and 79 €. For a small agency with one or two instructors, the difference over three years adds up to thousands of euros.
The per-enrollment price. The 9.90 € fee per enrollment beyond the package makes the budget unpredictable. A strong September month could cost more than a winter month.
What the page doesn’t say. No mention of contract length, setup fees, free trial, or SMS pricing. You’ll only find out by requesting a quote. Ask for it in writing, including the data export format if you ever leave.
Five alternatives to Klaxo, with their prices
The prices below are those listed on each publisher’s website, excluding taxes, checked on September 29, 2026 for my comparison of driving school software, and verified on October 11th for Drivup.
Drivea is free, with a 10 € per month option to receive new students. Scheduling, students, payments, progress, iOS and Android apps. To get started with no budget.
Ma Gestion Zen costs 39 € per month with 3 users included: scheduling, students, fleet, accounting, student portal, ANTS connection, multiple agencies.
Drivup offers two fixed-price plans per agency: Go at 45 € HT per month and Connect at 69 € HT, with discounts starting from two agencies. The digital workbook is billed from 3.50 € HT per workbook, SMS at 0.094 € HT, and the installation of the payment module by card at 300 € HT. The price does not depend on registrations, but options add up.
Kréno 2 costs 49 € per month up to 200 registrations per year, then 2.70 € per registration. Scheduling, contracts, invoices, certified collections, workbook bound to the State, student and instructor apps. It’s the closest alternative to Klaxo’s model at a lower price per registration.
GestAuto-École costs 79 € per month, unlimited instructors and students, based on Odoo: scheduling, workbook, student portal, packages, multiple agencies.
For a simple booking calendar, rdv360 has a free plan, then 29.90 to 59.90 € per month with the cash register and online payments. Rapido, Elgéaweb, and AGX, the historical publishers, do not disclose their pricing.
And if none fit: the custom tool
A driving school with its own way of working eventually twists its software. Packages that don’t fit any category, scheduling across multiple agencies with custom rules, tracking hours you still manage on Excel alongside your subscription. I developed a custom driving school management software for such situations: scheduling, students and hours, with the client’s rules and nothing else.
On pricing, a custom add-on connected alongside your subscription costs 2,500 to 7,000 € once. A complete software package ranges between 5,000 and 15,000 € upfront with me, then 100 to 300 € per month for maintenance, hosting, and backups included. You own the code and data. Over three years, compare this figure to 36 months of Klaxo Essentiel, which is 5,724 € HT without additional registrations, and you’ll have a real decision-making basis. My custom software pricing benchmark provides ranges from 14 French providers to compare.
How to Choose in One Day
Start with the six-question test on my driving school software page: it tells you whether an off-the-shelf software is enough, if an add-on is necessary, or if customization is justified. Then put the software you're considering through a real day: a registration, a contract, a lesson booked by a student, an invoice, and a driving log extract. Finally, calculate the cost over three years based on your actual registrations—not the introductory price.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Klaxo offer a free trial?
As of October 11, 2026, its pricing page doesn’t mention it. The site redirects to a demo request. Ask the question in writing, along with the commitment terms.
How much does Klaxo cost for a small driving school?
The cheapest plan is 99 € VAT-exclusive per month for 10 monthly registrations, then 9.90 € per additional registration. SMS are optional.
What’s a free alternative to Klaxo?
Drivea is free, with a 10 €/month option. The free version of rdv360 offers an online calendar with bookings, but no cash register or payment system.
How to switch driving school software without losing data?
Before signing, regardless of the provider, ask for the export format of students, lesson hours, contracts, and invoices. I haven’t verified this for Klaxo. If export is available, migration to another tool takes a few days.
Unsure between subscription and custom software?
Send me a few lines about your workflow: number of branches, monthly registrations, and what’s missing today. I’ll reply within 24 hours with an honest opinion—even if the best answer is to stick with a subscription.
